How AI can help with UI design, now?

This issue brings you a few ways in which AI can help with your design process, useful apps and other cool stuff related to design or web3.

AI technology can make a significant impact in the field of user interface (UI) design. It can help designers create more intuitive and efficient interfaces for websites, apps, and other digital products. In today’s post, we will explore some of the ways in which AI tools are being used in UI design and how it has the potential to revolutionize the way we think about designing.

1. Inspiration and concepts

One of the main benefits of using AI in UI design is its ability to generate concepts as inspiration for human designers. By feeding design parameters and constraints into a tool like Midjourney, StableDifusion, or DALL E, designers can generate a large number of possible design concepts, which can then be filtered and refined by humans. This can be especially useful in the early stages of the design process when designers are trying to generate a wide range of ideas and explore different options. The following are three impressive examples of AI-generated concepts:

Beautiful hq dashboard, design, ux/ui, ux, ui --v 4 --q 2 --ar 3:2

Beautiful landing for spiderman website, design, ux/ui, ux, ui --ar 3:2 --v 4 --q 2

AI-generated designs can also be used to augment human creativity by providing new and unexpected ideas that may not have been considered otherwise. However, it's important to note that AI-generated designs should always be reviewed and refined by humans to ensure that they are functional and meet the needs of the intended users.

2. Graphics

Are you looking for a nice, high-quality image for the hero section of your website? No problem, it is really amazing what AI can do when it comes to this. My assumption is that you saw that beautiful Spider-Man landing page above, it's just one example. You can simply generate a visual for your landing page or for social media by providing some context.

Of course, you'll need to think of something that would look good on your landing page, AI still can’t do that. Let's take this Spider-Man landing page for example. Depending on your choice of AI generator, you can tell it to create something like "Strong Spider-Man with muscles at night high quality". Play with it, that is the only way to learn.

3. A finished product

We can see from these examples above that it can be useful but definitely needs some refinement. There are cases where you don’t need to do anything, for the most part… Let’s say you get a task from your client to design an advanced and detailed icon for their new travel app. Here’s an example of a prompt:

Beautiful application icon for a travel app, design, ux/ui, ux, ui --v 4 --q 2

If you would show a couple of icons like this one to your client, I’m confident they would approve at least one. Or create/generate a complete icon pack which you can then offer to your audience online. Imagine a scenario where the only thing you need to do is be good at writing prompts 🤯 and make money from that. Yeah, maybe it’s still a bit farfetched, but not for long I’d say.

4. Generating copy

AI can also be used to generate copy for design interfaces, such as buttons, labels, and headings. By analyzing user behavior and input, AI can generate concise and effective copy that is tailored to the needs of the user. This can be especially useful for generating copy in multiple languages, as AI can handle the complexities of language translation and ensure that the resulting copy is accurate and idiomatic.

🧠 Here are a few examples:

  • ChatGPT: No need to say anything here, I believe you have heard enough about it in the last month.

  • Copy.ai: This tool uses AI to generate copy for a wide range of marketing purposes, including social media posts, email subject lines, and product descriptions.

  • Rytr: an AI writing assistant that helps you create high-quality content, in just a few seconds, at a fraction of the cost!

  • Hypotenuse: Provide a few keywords, and we’ll instantly turn them into full-length articles and marketing content, using our world-class AI with a vast knowledge of the world.

So, what can I say to conclude this topic? Designers who reject AI will soon be out of a job. With that said, what I would recommend to everyone is to learn how to utilize AI for their own use cases and hopefully this post has demonstrated how powerful AI can be.
